Senator Blumenthal on The Hill

On Friday October 7, United States Senator Richard Blumenthal spoke at Assembly.
On Friday October 7, United States Senator Richard Blumenthal spoke at Assembly. Blumenthal has spent the majority of his life in public office, serving as Connecticut State Attorney General for an unprecedented five terms from 1990 to 2010, and as Senator since his election in November of 2010. Blumenthal previously addressed the Hopkins community in 2008, and returned this month to field questions concerning local issues, such as transportation, police  brutality, and the environment; he also spoke at the Yale School of Management to expound on this last issue. Blumenthal helped fellow Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy lead the recent fifteen-hour filibuster on gun control, another issue about which the senator cares deeply. Blumenthal is running for re-election for Senate this year. Above, he is pictured  with members of the campus social justice club Young Democrats,  one of two political party-oriented groups on campus.
