The Student Newspaper of Hopkins School

    • “Though we lost three seniors, we have a lot of new, young talent this year, so I think we’ll continue to build off the success of the past two seasons.” -Gyan Maria ’18

    • “We lost only one senior from our Varsity and JV ladders, and with lots of hard-working players new to the game, we’re set to have both a successful season and a tight-knit team.” -Helena Lyng-Olsen ’18

    • “I am anticipating for our team to have a big season. We have been putting in the time and working extremely hard, and if we continue to do that we will be a very good team this year. Based on our performances as a team in the past couple of years, we have a target on our backs, and we love it. We can’t wait to get after it this season.” - Quinn Schneider ’18

    • “Going into the season we are sad to see our long-time coach Charlie O’Connell go, but we are very excited for the new leadership of our head coach, Dr. Christie. We hope to work hard, have fun this season and get to know all the new people joining the team.” -Lilly Tipton’18

    • “We’re very excited to be welcoming Dr. Michael Christie as our new head coach. He has worked with us in past years, and it will be great to have his experience to help us train. We have many returning runners, and are looking forward to working hard and growing team unity as we improve our individual and relay performances.” -Jonah Norwitt ’18

    • “We want to work meet by meet to incorporate the many new faces we have on the fencing team into the family. States is always going to be in the back of our minds, though. The big goal for the season would be to get all six squads to Team States.” -Jenn Horkovich ’18

    • “The season will go swimmingly.” -Neal Sarin ’18

    • “Even though we lost record holders Erin Earley and Gwyneth Maloy, we still have a lot of powerful individuals, especially younger swimmers. As always, the culture of the team will make the season remarkable both in and out of the pool.”- Kristina Yarovinsky ’18

    • “I’d like to have all of the fencing squads make it to team states, but as long as they truly put their heart into the sport, I’ll be happy with any outcome.” - Will Badrigian ’18

    • “I am really excited for this season. The girls look really good and we are looking forward to building off last season. I have a feeling this might be the best season yet.” -Sam Phelan ’18

    • “We’ve got a younger team than last year with only three returning players, but we’ve been preparing hard for the season. I believe we’ll improve on what was a tough season last year, and potentially find ourselves competing in the FAA playoffs.” -Jack Atkins ’18

    • “The ski team has a bright future ahead, all we need is a little snow!” -Libby Gardner ’18
